About Tuition

Voice and Guitar Tuition – Professional, Individual, Goal-Focused

I offer private tuition in voice and guitar for students of different ages, levels, and musical backgrounds. My teaching experience includes working with professional musicians, examination candidates, auditioning performers, band members, and those learning primarily for personal enjoyment and development.

I hold a Bachelor of Music as well as two Fellowship Diplomas (postgraduate level), and I have studied at institutions including the London College of Music, The Guitar Institute, the Franz Liszt Music Conservatory, and the Voice Study Centre. This academic and professional background ensures that all tuition is aligned with recognised methodological standards, current best practice, and — where relevant — the requirements of formal music examinations.

Lessons are structured, purposeful, and adapted to the individual student. While technical foundations are addressed carefully and systematically, they are always taught in relation to the student’s musical goals, repertoire, and practical needs. I work with a wide range of learning styles and levels of confidence, and place particular emphasis on clarity, efficiency, and sustainable progress.

Students retain an active role in shaping their learning process. Practice routines, repertoire, and pacing are discussed collaboratively and adapted over time, rather than imposed according to a fixed model. This approach supports consistent development while remaining realistic in relation to the student’s lifestyle, motivation, and objectives.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that musical progress is most effective when technical understanding, personal engagement, and enjoyment of the instrument develop together. The aim is not only skill acquisition, but long-term musical confidence and a meaningful relationship with voice or instrument.
